Elizabeth Manresa, Editor in Chief
“Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death.” A quote from Elizabeth's favorite film, Auntie Mame, she swears it depicts aspects of her childhood.
When her mother, a southern belle from Tennessee and former opera singer, married her father, a larger-than-life character from Cuba, both contributed to Elizabeth's personal flair for the dramatic. She loves to make people laugh. In fact, while in college she dabbled in stand-up comedy.
Raised in Ft. Worth, Texas, Elizabeth still can't seem to shake the dust off of her boots—and that's the way she likes it. Always one to have a bit of an independent streak, her friends count on her to set them straight and hug them tight.
For the past 17 years, Elizabeth has worked as a television reporter. As a correspondent for both CNN Newsource and Tribune Broadcasting in Washington, D.C., Elizabeth has covered national and political news from the White House, the Pentagon and Capitol Hill. She even survived her never-ending assignments for the 2004 and 2008 elections. But her past experience as a consumer reporter is what put her back on a familiar road. Elizabeth worked as a consumer reporter for TV stations in Missiouri and most recently ABC 7 in Washington, D.C.
Turning 40, Elizabeth decided to shake things up a bit so in between reporting gigs and raising a family, she went to work creating a new way to talk about what she wants, craves, lives and loves. Voila, Elizabeth developed lushclick.com.
Elizabeth lives in Washington D.C. with her husband Teddy, sons Hudson and Brooks and dog Churchill.
Kimberly Lakin Mize, Editor
Plucked from New York City and planted in Charlotte, North Carolina, Kimberly Lakin Mize is quickly adjusting to the gracious ways of southern life. A design-loving, Ina Garten wannabe, Mize is the devoted wife of a globe-trotting M&A husband and mother to a tres-stylish toddler, Oliver. After twenty years in non-profit management and fundraising, Mize is presently managed by her son's school schedule.
Slightly retired, she keeps busy baking old-fashioned layer cakes and walking Oliver to the neighborhood library in a thoroughly guilt-inducing stroller leftover from her days in the big city. An avid writer, shopper, and self-proclaimed arbiter of organization and nesting, Mize looks forward to sharing her thoughts on holiday entertaining, culture, pretty things and sweet treats.
Emily Little, Contributor
After a stint in New York (working first in fashion, then in finance), this Midwesterner hopped across the pond to play housewive. While the cooking and cleaning thing is slow-going, Emily may have found her calling in personal training and travel planning. Three days a week, she spends at a private studio leading sessions on the Power Plate, the exercise obsession-du-jour in Europe. While she is not working on her British accent, she has embraced most other aspects of the culture, and looks forward to sharing them with her fellow Lush ladies. In her free time, she loves to read, run and of course, travel.
Jenny Farley, Contributor
Ask anyone who knows Jenny Farley what she's like and they will tell you she is wickedly funny and unfailingly kind, a product of a southern upbringing in Kentucky where there are no strangers. People will also tell you Farley is quite a collector with dozens of Barbies, multiple sets of dishes, drawers full of makeup, shelves packed with stationary and more than a hundred handbags.
For the past 15 years Farley has produced television news, the perfect job for someone who has a natural love of people and telling stories with all the juicy details. Working at local affiliates, Farley went on to become a show producer at CNN Headline News in Atlanta. Farley spent nearly two years as a political producer for CNN Newsource in Washington, D.C. covering the presidential election.
Though she would love to be brave enough to climb Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen, for now she gets her kicks reading National Geographic Adventure and living the greatest adventure of her life, raising her two year old son Kai with her husband Kevin in the Philadelphia area.
