Get Naked With The Lastest Laser Hair Removal

For decades, women have been plucking, waxing and zapping the hair from every body part—even men are in on the hair removal craze. Luckily for smooth skin fanatics there are more methods for hair removal than ever.
Consumers can now choose from new home laser methods or leave it to the professionals who make it their mission to be on the cutting edge.
One dermatology group in Washington, D.C. is making waves with its dedication to being on the forefront of successful hair removal. “When we started out, our hair removal clients had few options like electrolysis. The demand was always there but not the technology, “ says Dr. Marilyn Berzin.

Fast-forward some 25 years and laser hair removal is the technology of the day. But like electrolysis some lasers are still somewhat painful and time consuming. However, according to Dr. Berzin that is changing. Berzin’s practice recently invested in a hair removal system she calls the gold standard-- the Lumenis Lightsheer Duet. The Lightseer is not only supposed to be fast but virtually pain-free.

Here’s how it works:
The large head of the laser is vacuum assisted. It treats the area by gently sucking up the skin. The vacuum action allows the light to penetrate deeper into the skin while targeting the dark hair follicles.
Dr. Berzin says her clients are surprised at the virtually pain-free experience.
“It used to be incredibly painful and you had to use a lot of topical anesthetic. The advantage of this machine is you need no anesthetic-- it’s incredibly fast and far less painful. “ How fast? For example: A full back used to take 1 to 2 hours. With the Lightsheer, Dr. Berzin says it now takes 20 to 30 minutes.

But it’s not a one-stop shopping experience. As with all lasers you’ll need more than one treatment. In some cases, 5 treatments are required at recommended intervals to achieve 70-80% long lasting hair removal.
The cost isn’t too bad especially when you consider the time and money you may spend on traditional hair removal maintenance. Dr. Berzin’s practice charges $100 per session for lip hair removal. But of course costs will vary depending on the doctor.
The laser can be used on the face, back, under arms, legs, bikini area and those who dare can even get a laser Brazilian treatment. So get ready to say good-bye to your waxing lady-- and hello to hair-free.
