Remember Gloria Vanderbilt jeans and Polo shirts? Back in my day that was the height of fashion. But now kids have real choices from big name designers without the runway price.
Fashion for kids has certainly come a long way. Nowadays there are all sorts of ways for kids to look cool. Some of my favorites are from L.L. Bean, Mini Boden, Crewcuts by J. Crew and of course GapKids. But GapKids is taking one collection in a new direction. The clothing retailer has teamed up with fashion designer Stella McCartney to create a special line just for boys and girls—from baby up to 12 years.
The famous designer says for years she’s wanted to create a collection for kids. “I tried to create a whole kids wardrobe. There are pieces that are classic and sort of timeless and hopefully very chic, mixed with more playful and a little bit cooler pieces,” says McCartney.
